Wallington let James question upon the accusation go unanswered, merely glancing at Brouncker too.

"I shall send you the mans' details." he gave a small smile, not letting on to the young Dr any more for now.

"I am glad we have that settled." Brounkner replied in stuffy tones. What relief he felt at the promise of the would-be-usperper did not show upon his face. "Well Gentlemen, this had gone very well, you must join me for a drink in my apartments." yet it was plain as he gave the invite that it was not extended to James.

"Good day to you Dr Winchester." he gave a succinct nod and moved off with a regal air, fully expecting the other dr's to act liek an entourage and follow on after him.

Grey-haired Wallington remained a moment longer, his eyes squinting as though his mouth was trying to smile. "A prudent decision." he ventured quietly, "I wish you every success in the road you have ahead of you." he offered his hand to shake James before he move off after the other Dr's.

"Oh, I thought you might find it interesting to see how accurate the maps of the colonies were. I was hoping to find a good set of maps to study, as I am interested in that part of the world," he explained. "Perhaps we should see if there are books on the Privy Council and its duties here in the library. Perhaps it will provide more information on the officess we seek."

James inclined his head in acknowledgement when Wallington said that he would send James the details of the man he needed to liase with to gain access to the Royal College.

Brouncker made it quite clear that now that he felt James had been dealt with satifactorily he was no longer of any interest or importance. The man certainly knew how to win friend and influence people. Then again, he clearly thought he was important enough that he didn't have to worry about offending junior physicians. Maybe he was right. Or maybe James could make him regret it some time in the future. James returned Brouncker's farewell with a nod as succinct at the man's own. "Dr Brouncker." He acknowledged as the self-important physician moved off.

Expecting the others to follow, James was a little surprised when Wallington lingered and offered a few words. "Thank you, sir." He said simply, shaking the proferred hand firmly. At least one of these Doctors didn't think him on a level with something scraped off their boots. "I look forward to hearing from you." James said quietly, then watched them go. He waited a few moments after they had gone before leaving the library himself. And despite the negative tone of the meeting, he felt that actually, it hadn't gone too badly. Maybe he would be able to catch the end of the horse races.

After Louis and Alex continued their conversation for a while there really wasn't anything more to say and both gents parted ways.

OOC: summarizing because Alex says this thread is done and James already departed.
What more does a game need but a bit of fluff?
