"Being seen has never seemed to be a problem until today. I do think it is just my nerves that are a lot more raw than even I imagined." Alexandra replied and nodded at Daniel's explanation with a polite smile.
"A winter wonderland, I would imagine." She commented with her smile brightening feeling a bit better that she was away from the crowd and trying to push her upset feelings that were implanted by self-doubt as well as the behaviour of the one she called friend.
"Oh my that sounds horrifying. I am so sorry to hear that such had happened during your stay." She frowned when his tone became a bit tight as Daniel spoke of Charles. It was on the tip of her tongue to pry further on the tone, but could not really figure out a way that did not sound rude and intrusive.
Just as quickly Daniel changed the subject towards her. "My grandfather had sent me to the King's Court for my first season." She replied not knowing that the young man thought that she was a Frenchwoman. "In my first season, I had the good fortune of marrying in London and we are here for the King's wedding. The event of the century I would imagine."
Then she asked with curiosity at his accent recognising it from a certain card game with another group of men, "And where do you join us from?"
