Peeps!

The Service:
I shall post the service itself (which shall be just one mighty post actually) in 5 days time (all things going well)

If you don't manage to post to the thread before hand, you can post afterwards of course, in one of those posts that assumes your pc was there all along. ;)

Banquet:
Upon the following RL week the Banquet shall commence in earnest, though you are all welcome of course to arrive there and mingle sooner.

Procedure for being seated: There are name places set, so upon arriving, flick me a pm prompt, and I shall issue you your assigned seat. :)

Banquet

Advance 'teaser' (warning) of one of the Banquet plans for fun:
You will all have seen the image, the single long table. The King will be seated at one end, his Bride at the other. This makes two points of favourable position available, and your pc's seating shall be designated with reference to their standing between those two persons.

Previous banquets have seen separate tables, with separate threads, this banquets shall be a single thread in respect to the fact that we are all at one single table.

Voice range: Guests can speak in a quiet voice to those on either side of them, without being heard by all in-sundry.

To speak to others the people in immediate proximity will require speaking louder, to be heard over the string of acts being put on.

Think of it as similar to the game musical chairs. Each time the act being perform ends, the music stops briefly. At that point, the pc who spoke last shall discover that everyone at the table heard their last sentence. Your mod shall indicate who's sentence gets heard by all, by quoting it in Bold. Guests are free to respond to your pc's words, indeed, encouraged to do so. The moment of background hush shall last for brief seconds, before the next act starts, and background noise impedes the ability to hear voices further down the table again.

It is my hope that these random little moments of limelight, wherever pc's might happen to be seated, shall add an extra pc thrill at regular intervals. Bon Appetit!

Have finally finished compiling seating arrangements, which ought help us all get a clear idea of who is where.

This is where the place cards are set on the tables in any case. Lets see what fun you can all make with what you've got to work with. :D

SCORE! *pumps fist in air* I have the best table-neighbours ever. George and Charles B. with Ferdinand across. Oh yes, I'm good.

On a more general note - WOW! That's a whole lot - LOT - of work that has gone into that seating plan, Hope. It's amazing.

Poor Arabella; Heather's doing nothing to stop her ego by moving her half a table closer to the King!

Also, I'll echo others' appreciation for the set-up; I can't wait for this to kick off!

I love the idea of the place settings and the mischief that Heather's caused by moving a few!

I'm just wondering if it might get a bit confusing as time goes on and people move seats. I was thinking that it might be easier if we number each place; then people can post what number they're sitting in and so deduce who's around them by other people's numbers?

Here is the updated seating plan; note that Miles Winstanley's is on the floor somewhere.
I shall update the list for any further changes that happen ic, I dont know how to number the excel spreadsheet, and would find it easier personally to know names rather than numbers.

I just wanted to mention that there are 'openings' being made for players who aren't yet arrived to the banquet (though not everyone yet! yet) so do please check through prior posts as your characters arrive.

It's my intend to lodge 3+ posts/week to this thread, whether or not you are ready for it, and get this hopping along with swift and bright! Go Team!

I am presuming that the ceremony of bedding the wedding couple and the afterparty will run as a continuation in this forum, am I right?

Sounds fair to me.

Everyone attending the wedding is safe to move on ahead in time, ie, you are 'locked in' as allowed to do any continuances within the Wedding event forum that arise in the future.

Rochester has added a little entertainment to the Wedding: a growing poem, guests each write a verse and see it grow.

This shall carry on in the background, please take your turn as it comes around - we are working anti-clockwise around the table. If you want to forfeit a turn, you may, just post doing so into the thread (Like Miles did).

p.s.

I am trying to be systematic about posting, but there is bound to be a post missed now and then. It's not deliberate, just let me know if I missed your characters post in a reply - and I shall mend or in the least catch up with them next round.

Cheers!

I did my best and passed it on to York, even whispering some suggestions to the poor dimwitted soul.

I was wondering if I should go ahead with the ballad for Alexandra, or wait until the NPCs have contributed?

FYI, desert course shall be next, then the cake, then the escort to the bedchamber. My target is to complete the Banquet thread in the next two weeks. Go team!

p.s. -- If you've fallen behind with your pc posting to the event, don't worry too much, just jump back on in at where we currently are. I'll help your char get re-immersed. :handgestures-thumbupright:

p.p.s. --- If you can't bring yourself to post to the banquet thread, do not worry about getting left out of the next part of the event. All PC's shall be automatically put into the escorting thread. It ought to be a simpler thread, and easier for everyone to keep up with. :handgestures-thumbupleft:

I'd like to point out that my girl also tied together Middlesex and the Duchess as I recall, and not Nell.

To all those that have read Charles' note to Cecile: since nobody attempted to intervene while the thread was running, I'm ruling further interference out of order. This means you can assume that either you were stopped by the Life Guards on your way to the Tower, or for some reason you were incredibly delayed or distracted, which you can indicate in later threads.

Now, this has not happened yet in our mature, professional community, but just to be sure a warning for all of our players: in no way can you assume to know the content of the conversation or the fact that Cecile might be a French spy or worse, unless informed by Williamson, another NPC or Charles Whitehurst. The same is true for all other plotpoints that are currently surfacing and will further surface in the coming two weeks. We are reaching the highpoint of our season and it will be more enjoyable for all when we Avoid Astute Perception.
What more does a game need but a bit of fluff?
