Can I take initiative for stories that interest me?

Yes, yes and yes! We heavily encourage threads started by players, and the joining of threads by other people. While the moderators will interfere there where we think it either necessary or fun with reactions of the environment, a deepening of your historical sense or even NPC's, this will not always be the case.
