Our new season is now open: Spring 1677 !
Equality
Equality is something our contemporary minds have gotten used to. Equality between men, equality between men and women, equality between races, equality between religions etc. etc. It is a great dogma of our modern world.
Not so in the 17th century. This is a world of social "betters" where servants are more akin to property. Women have few legal rights, and need employ other means to get their own way. Catholics are reviled, foreigners distrusted. Those not white (Turks, Native Americans, Africans etc.) are thought to be inferior.
This is one of the reasons why being common, female, Catholic or foreign is such a great flaw in our game system. Yes, it does work against you and you will have to be clever to find alternative ways to get your plans into action.
