Background
Son and elder child of Sir George and Lady Anne Russell Digby, the 2nd Earl and Countess of Bristol, he has a younger sister, Anne.
He married his first wife, Alice Bourne, daughter of Robert Bourne, on 26 March 1656. She died in May, 1658. He married his secondly and current wife, Rachael Wyndham, daughter of Sir Hugh Wyndham and Jane Wodehouse, in August, 1663. They are thus far childless.
He is currently a Royalist Member of Parliament for Dorset (1675-78)
