NPC

An NPC is a Non-Player Character, or a character that in principle is played by the moderator (who sets and describes the background), and not the player, though you are allowed to create NPCs for your household and for minor mundane roles.

A NPC can be the most basic of characters - such as a bitpart bartender who is visible in-game for little longer than a post or two - but can range all the way to a well-developed character in their own right, such as Nell Gwyn, Silas Moorehead, or King Charles.

Sometimes a retired PC can become an NPC and be taken over by a Moderator.
