Background
An adept solicitor he was an formidable opponent in court, given his extensive knowledge of the law and his ability to speak eloquently. Moorhead held the position of High Steward of the Court of Wards, it was said he had gotten his position as a toady to the Lord Chancellor. He lost his position in Mid May 1676, when he was arrested upon charges of embezzlement, he is currently resident in the Tower.
