Our new season is now open: Spring 1677 !
This is a state of the Holy Roman Empire.
- Relations: Neutral toward England
- Current Ruler: Elector John George II
- Religion: Lutheran
Like so much of this part of Europe, this region too suffered the destructions of the Thirty Years’ War. Textile, glass, coal and silver production, as well as trade, helped to bolster the economy. Unlike other parts of the Holy Roman Empire, in Saxony, Luteranism was the only legal religion. The Elector focused largely on matters of the arts, making Dresden the musical focal point of the Holy Roman Empire.
